The expectation for this position is as follows:
The Team Lead oversees all facets of the Nelson sales process in such a manner that it results in an engaging and memorable experience for our customers, while mentoring the sales team in a manner that exemplifies the Nelson Core Values, and elevates each individual team member to a place of success and excellence.
The Team Lead is responsible for the following:
Leadership and Coaching
- Oversees the daily workings of the sales team
- Oversees assigned team members to aid in their growth and longevity
- Daily coaching of the sales team One-On-One meetings
- Conduct morning and afternoon huddles
- ROE and NPI compliance
- Proactively handle guest issues
- Proactively handle internal issues
BDC
- Maintain the flow in the BDC, overseeing the engagement of employees and guest
- Making sure the BDC is never left unattended during business hours.
- Post scheduled appointments on appointment board in Internet Department.
- Purify and update Customer changes in CRM.
- Unsold car transaction follow-up with guests
- Coordinate with necessary departments when an appointment is scheduled.
- Assign Leads
- Continuously view BDC dashboard for appointment opportunities and confirmations
- Walk the BDC room aiding each client advisor in effective response and response methods that lead to a positive sale outcome for Nelson.
- Step in on BDC communication when needed to help secure a great guest experience and outcome.
- Daily coaching
- Daily follow up verification, using the Nelson ilead protocol as a benchmark
- BDC leads assigned within 5 minutes and CA follow up within 10 minutes
The Sales Experience
- Man the sales floor by physically being present on the showroom, weaving in and out of all active deals.
- Act as sales concierge for both guest and client advisors.
- Monitor and coach the guest experience through MBEP/NSSI results
- Responsible for the engagement to each sale, partnering with the sales consultant throughout the entire sale
- Actively engage in the Next Up dashboard and reporting system to coach, celebrate, and train as needed.
- Individual team CSI – Mazda Percentile 80%+ and Nissan 930+
Finance
- Conduct effective trade appraisals, that result in profitable trade acquisitions for the company.
- Re-hash difficult deals
- Knowing lender maximums for each deal being contracted
- Posts vehicle sales and purchases
- Communication of all rebates and incentives
- Build F&I menus for the sales team to present.
- Train daily on F&I products and presentations
- Oversee the accuracy of deal packets on the floor.
- Make sure Business Processors are getting sales support as needed to finalize deals
- 65% Finance Penetration
- Audit 5 deals per week, per Client Advisor on your team, to review time stamps and look for coaching area opportunities.
Admin, Training, and Other
- Completes all required new hire paperwork, and first day activities with new sales person.
- Observe, coach, and verify 100% excellent compliance in the Nelson Delivery checklist
- Conduct daily walk the lot
- Prospecting, interviewing, hiring and training of sales team
- Verifies manufacturer certification is 100% for the dealership
- Aids in the training of current and new team members
- Send team to assigned training
- Request specific trainings based on team needs
- Conduct and document coaching, encouragement, and redirection through ROE, NPI, Rocks, One-on-One daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
- Complete and turn in your Daily Duties Checklist to GM
- Teaches at Nelson University
