Sales Support/ Customer Service Specialist
Thompson Brands LLC is currently seeking an experienced Sales Support/ Customer Service Specialist to join our team in Meriden, Connecticut (06451).

Job Summary:
Serves as the primary contact for most customers. Processes and manages orders through to fulfillment. Supports sales and marketing’s day-to-day activities and special projects, as required. Functions as the “go to” person for Sales and Marketing administrative needs. This role assists in ensuring sales and marketing materials are accurate and reflect the most current information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.
Sales and Marketing Support:
- Supports sales and marketing projects by assisting with project coordination as assigned.
- Supports sales and marketing projects by preparing and shipping sample kits as instructed.
- Assists the Sales and Marketing Manager in creating and publishing sales materials.
- Creates and analyzes reports to supply sales with buying pattern information.
Customer Support:
- Responsible for managing wholesale, distributor, private label, broker, and contract manufacturing accounts.
- Processes and enters customer orders into the system accurately and timely that are downloaded from customer portals, received by email, EDI and telephone.
- Communicates with customers to provide product information, promotion details and sales materials, as directed by Sales and Marketing Manager.
- Interacts with internal teams including Purchasing, Scheduling, Production, QC, and Shipping & Receiving as needed to ensure timely order fulfillment and delivery.
- Communicates with the customers regularly regarding product availability and status of orders and expected delivery.
- Resolves any issues that may arise with customer orders including changes, cancellations, delays, or discrepancies.
- Prepares samples as requested by customers or Sales and Marketing Manager.
General:
- Fully complies with safety and food safety & quality policies. Must be compliant with the company’s mandatory vaccination policy.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent or 3-5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and order entry systems.
Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional written and verbal skills, including persuasiveness and negotiating ability. Ability to effectively communicate with others.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Understanding of statistical concepts.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to convey a rational, calm presence of mind during highly stressful situations. Ability to anticipate and prevent problems whenever possible.
