Sales/Product Engineer - Ferretti Search

We are seeking a dynamic Product Engineer to support the Sales department with both technical and non-technical activities. This role is ideal for an engineer with an outgoing sales attitude, capable of understanding and articulating technical and manufacturing aspects of our products to potential customers. The Product Engineer will develop skills in costing and quoting custom parts while possessing a strong personality for engaging with customers, discussing pricing, and closing sales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate customer requests for quotes (RFQs) to determine manufacturing feasibility.
• Develop cost estimates for product manufacturing.
• Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and quality teams to understand customer demands.
• Provide technical assistance to the customer service team.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Conduct outbound customer prospecting and follow up on quotations to close sales.
• Analyze sales metrics and provide relevant analytical data.
• Respond to technical inquiries via phone and email, providing timely support.
• Utilize an ERP system for various operational needs.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret sales data.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of CNC Screw Turning machinery is advantageous.
• Understanding of basic raw materials and their properties.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Capable of multitasking and setting priorities.
• Team player with the ability to interact effectively across all departments.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical machine shops.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
