As a sales and marketing analyst reporting you will execute quantitative analysis to drive actionable insights, in support of the growth of Gallagher Basset’s risk management and carrier practice business. Analysis will range from strategic (i.e., scoping market potential) to sales (i.e., analytics to support new client acquisition) to client related (i.e, identifying performance gaps and hypotheses for root cause, leading to specific action planning), and marketing related (case study and other analysis to support planned campaigns). You will work very closely with our sales team, marketing team, client services, and our internal executive team. The delivery of timely high quality, error free analyses is integral to the role as is confidence presenting to peers, clients, and executives.
The ideal candidate will be able to manage competing demands, handle inflight asks within a truncated timeline, and communicate expectations effectively with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the candidate will be tasked with streamlining processes and automating functions where appropriate. You should possess strong SQL skills, expert-level excel knowledge, and feel confident in your ability to independently produce polished PowerBI dashboards.
How you'll make an impact:
- Generating analyses with relevant recommendations for senior and executive audiences
- Packaging insights from analyses into highly polished deliverables for external audiences
- Identifying and assessing opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and outcomes across operations
- Evaluating financial impact of recommendations to client
- Collaborating on high visibility efforts across functional areas
- Conducting primary and/or secondary research to identify required data to solve a given business question from current or prospective client
- You are proactive, hardworking, able to manage 2-3 analytics requests at once and confident in your ability to use data to influence decision makers.
- You are able to work independently and are comfortable when tasked with solving problems of varying complexity.
- You enjoy identifying opportunities for stakeholders with varying operations and crafting compelling cases to impact change.
- Ideally, you have experience in risk management and insurance with an understanding of claim concepts, practices and procedures of worker’s compensation, auto liability, general liability or any combination thereof.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, analytics, or related discipline
- 3-5 Years experience in a role as an analyst
- Proficiency with SQL
- Proficiency with PowerBI or similar data visualization tools
- Experience engaging with and presenting to mid to senior level stakeholders
- Minimal travel (less than 20%)
Preferred Requirements
- 2+ Years experience in risk management/insurance
- Experience with R, Python, Tableau
- Bonus if you possess a Master’s/MBA degree (not required)
