BASIC FUNCTION
Primary Responsibility: The Sales Manager is responsible for staffing and professionally developing a sales team of direct reports and assisting them in meeting sale objectives. Directs and manages the sales activities and performance of the team. Drives business results by achieving revenue and profit contribution targets. Leverages the customer base and champions the expansion of services across the business line.
WORK PERFORMED
Recruit/hire/lead, motivate and counsel the sales team to meet or exceed budgeted sales revenue, gross profit, unit placement, expense and equipment contribution projections, while maintaining teamwork and the highest level of customer service. Responsible for up to $3-6 million for revenue expectations and for selling expense limitations.
Plan, coach, train, advise and review with individual sales representatives their progress in achieving
individual and team revenue targets, and assists them in their career planning, training and growth; recommend and facilitate appropriate development opportunities. Manage day-to-day employee relations’ issues.
Schedule and host periodic informational team meetings and team-building exercises. Support and advocate headquarter initiatives.
Align sales representatives’ approach and customer understanding with strategic direction. Facilitate a team-based, inclusive work environment to promote sales across the business line and drive employee and customer retention. Ensure reports are conducting strategy account planning with key customer accounts.
Recruit, interview and hire sales professionals. Proactively build an internal and external pipeline of sales representative candidates and introduce products and services.
Work with customer and appropriate internal staff to resolve customer issues and complaints.
Perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 4-year college degree or equivalent in related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years industry-related sales experience, preferably with two (2) years management experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work in areas which require attention to detail in a varied environment.
- General office environment. May spend long hours sitting or standing.
- Some physical effort is required which may involve bending, reaching, stretching, or similar activities as well as lifting or moving items weighing up to 60 pounds
- Requires ability to canvas and climb stairs in office building that may not have elevators.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Employee must complete required courses as described by Human Resources for all employees.

- Requires a valid state driver's license and minimum level of auto insurance coverage per company policy for position entails extensive use of personal car while on company business.
