About the Job
General Summary:
Incumbent is responsible for the profitable sales and marketing activities of the branches including coordination of the outside sales group and the management of all product specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develops plans & procedures to achieve projected sales and margin goals using budgeted resources, within established expense limits.
2. Facilitates the timely assessment of, and subsequent sales to, all creditworthy customers across the spectrum of industrial, commercial and contractor customers.
3. Primary contact for the marketing, planning, and implementation of all major MRO contracts.
4. Directs budget responsibility for Sales, Gross Margin, Sales Expense, Meals & Entertainment, and Training.
5. Provides timely and accurate sales forecasts and subsequent performance reports on key initiatives.
6. Coordinates with and supports Sales Management to develop joint plans to grow market share and develop a team of professional managers, sales associates, and engineers.
7. Conducts Sales Management meetings and participate in General Sales Meetings as required by the General Manager.
8. Notifies the Credit Manager of all sizable orders for appropriate credit review, and advise the Credit Manager of any changes relating to a customer’s status or location. Coordinate with the Credit Manager to resolve all open receivables or credit issues in a timely manner.
9. Monitors the planning process, and subsequent performance, of all assigned Account Managers with a focus on continuous sales growth.
10. Contributes to superior customer service levels, with an emphasis on timely and accurate quotes, order entry, and problem resolution.
11. Implements and monitors pricing, rebates, and the database in support of profitable and continuous market share gains.
12. Maintains all required customer information (Account Profiles) to support marketing initiatives; Correlation.
13. Coordinates with local factory representatives and manufacturers representatives in order to develop a positive and productive relationship in support of joint marketing and sales goals.
14. Implements plan to maximize our relationship with manufacturing members of Affiliated Distributors.
15. Assumes direct responsibility for the sales and marketing of Allen-Bradley and Hoffman product lines.
16. Provides leadership to Product Specialists including professional development, counseling and coaching, interviewing and selection.
17. Coordinates personal training requirements and professional development initiatives with the General Manager.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business management or marketing preferred.
2. 6+ years sales and product experience, strong customer service and leadership skills.
3. Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, NxTrend, Correlation, and E-Sales. As well as, Proposal Builder, Passport, and CIRCE.
4. Strong business writing and oral presentation skills;
5. Professionalism, teaming, diligence, positive attitude, strong analytical and negotiating skills, strong organizational skills.

Reports to: General Manager*
Direct Reports: Account Managers, Automation Group Manager, Sales Manager, Sales Coordinator
*The Sales Manager reports to the General Manager, and coordinates appropriate activity with the Corporate Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Coordinates all activity with local Sales & Operations Management in support of organizational goals and objectives.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment; frequent overnight travel
