About the Job
Our client, a prestigious family-owned luxury retailer, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead their sales team at their flagship store in Albany, NY. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in fine jewelry sales, particularly in diamonds and bridal pieces. You will work closely with the store’s management to drive sales performance, mentor the team, and ensure an exceptional customer experience in a high-end luxury retail environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Leadership: Collaborate with store management to lead, develop, and motivate the sales team to achieve both individual and collective sales goals.
Goal Setting: Set sales targets and monitor team performance, providing feedback and support to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
Customer Engagement: Serve as a lead salesperson, handling high-value sales and ensuring that each customer receives a personalized and exceptional shopping experience.
Sales Support: Assist associates in closing high-value or complex transactions, serving as a mentor to improve their performance.
Client Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, managing a book of business and ensuring satisfaction through follow-up and personalized service.
Diamond and Bridal Expertise: Provide expert knowledge on diamonds, including cuts, quality, and certifications, as well as bridal jewelry.
Professional Development: Train and mentor sales associates on product knowledge and effective sales techniques.
CRM Management: Utilize the CRM system (training provided if necessary) to track customer interactions, follow up on leads, and manage the sales pipeline.
Professional Presentation: Maintain a refined, professional appearance that aligns with the luxury retail environment.
Collaboration: Work with the management team to implement new sales initiatives and strategies to grow the business.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales management or leadership experience in a high-end luxury retail environment. Jewelry or fine goods experience is highly preferred.
Diamond Knowledge: Expertise in diamonds, including familiarity with cuts, grading, and certification (GIA knowledge is a plus). Experience with bridal jewelry is preferred.
Customer Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and manage long-term relationships with high-value clients.
Sales Skills: Demonstrated success in achieving sales goals and motivating a team to deliver exceptional customer service.
CRM Experience: Familiarity with CRM software is a plus, though training will be provided.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills, capable of inspiring and guiding a team, as well as coaching underperforming associates.
Attention to Detail: High level of precision when discussing diamond quality and jewelry specifications with clients.
Professional Appearance: Consistently maintain a refined, polished appearance in line with the luxury retail environment.
COMPENSATION
Base Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 per year, based on experience.
Commission: 1-2% of individual gross sales.

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time, 43-44 hours per week.
Monday - Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
