Are you an undergraduate student interested in building a career in sales? Are you seeking to learn from an established, successful team in the software/IT industry? Splunk, one of the world’s most innovative companies in Big Data, is experiencing high growth and seeking a Sales Development Intern to join its fast-growing Washington, DC-based sales team.
Splunk is looking for interns for Summer 2025!
What you'll get to do as a Splunktern:
+ Qualify and develop inbound leads and create business pre-opportunities
+ Building intelligence and fostering client relationships through personalized contact, understanding of client’s needs, and ability to creatively communicate solution values of products and services
+ Schedule qualified discovery meetings/product demos for Inside Sales Reps to handle
+ Support attendance to all field marketing events to include, but not limited to Splunk Lives, our National Users Conference and all regional trade shows.
+ Meet quarterly business objectives aimed at growing revenue in accounts through developing consistent sales pipeline
+ Work closely both with sales and marketing to provide better insight into the success of the marketing activities that are being run at the same time as generate new pipeline.
Must-have Qualifications
+ Students currently enrolled in a degree program or equivalent with a graduation/completion date of December 2025 or beyond.
+ Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks
+ Nice-to-have Qualifications

Our Splunktern Program allows incoming interns the flexibility to choose from three start dates, currently anticipated to be:
Monday, May 19, 2025 - Friday, August 8, 2025
Monday, June 2, 2025 - Friday, August 22, 2025
Monday, June 16, 2025 - Friday, September 5, 2025

Base Pay is based on a candidate completing 3 years of university or the academic equivalent
Base Pay
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay: $25 per hour
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay: $24 per hour
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay: $ per hour
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills, year in school and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for benefits.
