Position Overview
Business Analysts are responsible for converting data into actionable business insights. They are analysis experts who leverage a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to provide timely, meaningful, and consumable information. They build deep contextual and domain knowledge. They ensure data quality and build scalable tools. They communicate findings with the most effective and influential methods.
This highly motivated individual would be excited to partner with our stakeholders to develop data products and solutions and create actionable insights that will impact all our B2b Customers and Consumers across North America. This role will use their skills in advanced analytics and problem solving skills to transform complex data sets into key statistics, trends, etc. that will drive actionable insights for executive management and requires cross functional collaboration with key business units including Sales, Customer Support, Business Intelligence, Product, Marketing, and Finance teams.
The analyst will assist improving company-wide metrics and reporting dashboards, which align with business strategy, using benchmarking and best practices as guiding standards. The incumbent must have strong consultative, critical thinking, and analytic skills with ability to operate strategically and build effective partnerships across multiple stakeholder groups and ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects to meet tight deadlines. This person will be an excellent communicator, self-motivated, flexible, and hardworking, and will have the ability to move beyond compiling data and tell the story behind the numbers.
What you'll do
DATA
- Act as a liaison between the business and IT to support the integration of various tools with GBQ
- Build and manage related KPIs to measure, control, and benchmark reporting processes
- Document explanations of data and implications of data analyses to users expressing and interpreting technical terminology into non-technical language
- Review current data/reporting structure to determine basic characteristics, such as origin and report flow, tool, filters, etc. to ensure alignment with direction of the company
- Monitor existing metrics, building new metrics, and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities
REPORTING
- Examine and evaluate purpose and content of business reports to develop new, or improve existing format, use, and control: Drive requirements and create executive and business level reporting to track operational metrics and support business decisions
- Take ownership of reporting processes to ensure that each report is accurate and timely with a high degree of customer focus in resolving data discrepancies
- Provide technical and analytical support to solve a wide range of complex problems and, using sound analysis techniques, determine gaps in the business and provide reporting support that will help alleviate issues in the business and drive high-impact process improvement
- Recommend establishment of new or modified visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards to improve report content and completeness of information
ANALYTICS
- Retrieve and analyze large and complex sets of data using Excel, PBI, and other data management systems to design and implement reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
- Analyze data and other information in order to conceptualize and define operational problems and/or improvement opportunities; plan and execute analysis, often examining data and other information to perform root cause analysis and develop an impact/risk assessment
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or related field
- 3+ years in an analytical role
- The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, advanced analytics and problem solving skills to transform raw data into actionable business insights for executive management and cross functional collaboration with key business units.
- Strong knowledge of BI such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL or Python
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication skill with the ability to present findings to leadership
