About the Job
Our client, a leading supplier of lumber, windows, doors, and railings, is seeking a results-driven Sales Executive to join their dynamic team. The role is focused on serving multi-family builders and contractors, and the successful candidate will be responsible for achieving ambitious sales and gross margin targets.
This is a hybrid/remote role, ideally suited to candidates located near one of branch locations. The Sales Executive will be expected to cultivate strong customer relationships, monitor account profitability, and stay informed about market trends to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
Sales Executive Job Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed annual sales and gross margin goals ($10M in sales and $1M in gross margin).
- Cultivate and develop new customer relationships through proactive lead generation and prospecting.
- Monitor account profitability, customer satisfaction, and loyalty, taking action to address issues when necessary.
- Schedule product shipments and provide support throughout the product delivery cycle.
- Collaborate with dispatch, logistics, and account management teams to ensure timely and accurate product deliveries.
- Deliver responsive and professional customer service to project owners.
- Stay informed about market activities and pricing trends to optimize solicitation and pricing activities.
- Communicate proactively with the purchasing team to ensure proper demand-side planning.
Qualifications
- Experience 1 (Preferred): 10+ years of sales experience in the multi-family construction industry, ideally with $10M+ in sales volume.
- Proven track record of successfully selling to general contractors (GC) or framer project owners, especially in the multi-family space.
- Strong understanding of lumber packages, shipping, and logistics for large projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with a growth mindset and "grinder" mentality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and web-based software.
- 4-year college degree preferred.
Compensation
- Base salary: $60-96K (draw-based).
- Commission: 30% on sales, with two large paydays annually.
- On-target earnings (OTE): $300K annually.
