Position: Estimator
Overview:
As an Estimator at Left Coast Scales, you will play a crucial role in our sales process. You will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of projects, preparing detailed proposals, and providing exceptional customer service. Your ability to analyze project requirements, gather pricing information, and communicate effectively will be essential to your success.

Responsibilities:
Review project specifications: Carefully examine blueprints, drawings, and client requests to understand the scope of work.
Gather pricing information: Collect cost data from suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments to determine material, labor, and overhead expenses.
Prepare detailed estimates: Create accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, including labor hours, equipment rental, and other relevant factors.
Develop proposals: Prepare professional proposals that clearly outline project details, pricing, and terms and conditions.
Customer Service: Collaborate with clients to address their concerns, answer questions, and support them through the intake and sales processes.
Maintain accurate records: Keep detailed records of estimates, proposals, and project outcomes for future reference.
Stay updated on industry trends: Stay informed about industry developments, new technologies, and pricing fluctuations.
Provide excellent customer service: Build strong relationships with clients and provide timely and informative responses to their inquiries.
Track purchase orders (POs): Monitor the status of purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any discrepancies. Internal and external.
Manage spreadsheets: Create and maintain accurate spreadsheets for tracking project data, estimates, and invoices.
Provide exceptional customer service: Respond promptly to customer inquiries, address their concerns, and ensure their satisfaction.
Support the sales team: Collaborate with sales representatives to provide accurate and timely estimates and proposals.
Enter data: Accurately enter and update data into the company's CRM system or other relevant databases.
Qualifications (Preferred):
Experience: Proven experience as an estimator in the construction or manufacturing industry.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of estimating techniques, construction processes, and industry standards.
Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in estimating software and Office Suites. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Higher education degree preferred with a mathematical or statistic-based focus. Technical or vocational training in construction or estimating is preferred.
