Job Description
The Sales Engineer will work closely with the Account Manager (formerly Business Development Manager) to develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills, as you'll be responsible for understanding customer needs, providing technical consultation, and ensuring our manufacturing capabilities align with their requirements. You will be instrumental in growing the business by engaging directly with customers, both over the phone and in person, to build trust and ensure long-term partnerships.
Customer Overview:
The client specializes in precision CNC machining, supplying high quality, tight tolerance components for industries such as aerospace, medical and mining. The client is looking for a technically savvy Sales Engineer to play a key role in customer development and the creation of technical solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of experience in technical sales, engineering, or manufacturing, with a preference for CNC machining experience.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining, with the ability to effectively communicate these concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage in meaningful conversations that foster and enhance customer relationships.
- Demonstrated expertise in quoting and estimating jobs within a machining or manufacturing environment.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively alongside internal teams and the Account Manager to deliver seamless customer experiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software; familiarity with JobBOSS2 and/or QuickBooks Online is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, customer-oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ITAR, AS9100, or comparable regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems for managing customer data and tracking sales processes.
- Background in working with growing businesses or startups.
