Sales Development Manager
The Sales Development Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) and Sales Associates (SAs) to exceed sales targets and drive new business growth. This role focuses on creating and implementing strategies to identify, qualify, and convert prospects, while nurturing current contacts and reactivating former accounts. Additionally, the Sales Development Manager plays a pivotal role in equipping the team with tools, training, and processes to ensure consistent and sustainable performance. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development
- Inspire and manage a team of BDRs and SAs to exceed sales revenue and profit targets.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to foster skill development and career growth.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, weekly one-on-ones, and team meetings to set goals, celebrate wins, and address challenges.
- Identify individual and team training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.
Strategy and Execution
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales to ensure alignment with department goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, qualify, and contact new prospects.
- Design and oversee tools, tactics, and campaigns to grow revenue and increase profit.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities to refine strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Process Optimization and Pipeline Development
- Establish and document best practices for outreach, pipeline development, and opportunity management.
- Leverage CRM and sales tools to monitor progress, analyze performance, and optimize workflows.
- Drive the adoption of technology and automation tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Lead the team in building and maintaining a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities to fuel the sales organization.
Qualifications
Proven Sales Experience
- Demonstrated success in B2B sales, including prospecting, closing deals, and managing client relationships.
- Deep understanding of the sales process, lead generation, and account management best practices.
Leadership and Development
- Experience leading and coaching sales teams, with a proven track record of developing top performers.
- Passion for mentoring and enabling team success through continuous learning and skill-building.
Strategic Mindset
- Ability to design and implement scalable tools, processes, and tactics to achieve team goals.
- Analytical and data-driven approach to sales performance and metrics.
Technologically Proficient
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced e-commerce environment, leveraging CRM and other sales enablement tools.
Preferred Knowledge
- Familiarity with the golf industry and/or decorated products is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred.
