Job Title: Sales/Designer, Residential Landscape Construction
Location: Austin TX
Compensation Target: Base salary of $65-75k base salary plus commissions on Sales, Vehicle, Gas Card, 2 weeks vacation plus holidays, Health Insurance, 401k match up to 3%, Cell Phone, Laptop
Company Information:
Our client is an established Design/Build company that creates and enhances outdoor living areas. They have built a reputation for providing high quality work and establishing long term relationships with their clients.
Based in Austin TX, the company has seen an increase in demand for their services and is looking to hire a Sales representative who can identify new opportunities, establish relationships and bring in new design/build contracts.
Position Summary:
The Sales Designer position will be responsible for finding new projects for residential properties within the local market.
They will establish relationships with home owners and home builders and will follow up on leads with residential clients who are interested to make improvements to their outdoor living space. This individual will meet with potential clients, define the scope of work, document site conditions, budgets and timelines, will produce initial designs and close the opportunity with a signed contract. They will design the solution for the client using design software.
Once the client has signed off on the design and are ready to move forward with the construction, the Sales Representative will transition the project to the fulfillment team and will be responsible for monitoring the progress of the project via regular inspections. This position is responsible for selling the construction services which includes sustainable landscape, drainage, hardscape, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, irrigation, lighting and other outdoor living features.
The goal is for this individual to sell $500k per year in projects. Projects range from $15 - 50k with some exceeding $100k
Responsibilities:
Following up on leads generated by the company to qualify the opportunity
Establish rapport with the client in order to generate a positive relationship
Assist client in defining their goals of the project
Assist client with defining the budget for the project
Propose designs for the client to evaluate in order to come to an agreement on the scope
Create the estimate and contract in order to come to an agreement with the client
Work with internal resources to meet timelines as it relates to the proposal and designs
Manage the pipeline of potential clients and keep track as to where they are in the sales process
Transition the project to the Fulfillment team who will be in charge of building the project
Inspect the projects through the construction cycle and handle any large change orders that can materially affect the original scope of the project.
Qualifications:
The following education, skills and experience are required for this role:
- 3+ years of experience sales and design of outdoor solutions;
- Experience working on Sketch Up or other design software
- Broad knowledge of horticulture and landscape design and construction;
- Proficient at writing estimates and proposals
- Valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record;
- Adaptable with a strong sense of urgency;
- Ability to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner;
- Ability to develop scope of work and budgets via sourcing materials
- Ability to manage a pipeline and close on opportunities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, spoken and written, internally and externally
