Sales Design Engineer - Globe Machine Manufacturing

Since 1917, Globe Machine has been a manufacturer of industrial machines, systems, and plants for advanced composites, building products, and pulp & paper.

The Sales Design Engineer will be responsible for generating and developing solutions for our customers. Reporting directly to the Sales Engineering Manager, this role will have exposure to the full cycle of system design, from pre-sale to the hand-off to engineering, completing the process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Support

• Collaborate with the Sales Engineering Manager to determine specifications and technical scope of projects.
• Prepare project's technical specification list for utilization by engineering team.
• Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer specifications. Utilize existing drawings and designs where possible.
• Design and draft the master top-level general arrangement drawing to illustrate the relation of proposed installation to customer facility.
• In collaboration with the Sales Engineering Manager, generate preliminary budgets for proposed equipment.

Conceptualization

• Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements determining mechanical designs.
• Assist in the development of new product design incorporating the latest technology.

Sales and Customer Support

• Assist the Sales Engineering Manager in the reviewing and responding to customer quotation requests, including RFQ documents, and preparing necessary conforming bids.
• Provide technical support to the Sales team by assisting with project conceptualization, cost estimating, and pricing.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science degree in ME, IE or ET required.
• Related experience in manufacturing desired.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required. Inventor or SolidWorks and MS Project desired.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, motion and control components a plus.
• Ability to successfully collaborate with engineers, vendors, and customers required.
• Proven track record of being self-motivated, working with minimal supervision, and leading and partnering with diverse team members required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently, retain a sense of urgency and meet strict timelines required.
• Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.
