Job Summary:

The Sales Associate reports to the Assistant Store Manager, performs various duties to serve customers, keeps store running safely and efficiently to achieve a profitable store location, and holds to Hollywood Feed’s #1 Policy, “Do what is right by the customer.”

Sales Associate Key Responsibilities:

•Greets and assists customers according to the Hollywood Feed customer service standards

•Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to thoroughly explain the store products to best meet the pet and customer needs

•Communicates openly and respectfully with supervisors and coworkers

•Effectively operates independently and as a part of a team

•Unloads and put away product deliveries

•Learns and accurately operate the Hollywood Feed point-of-sale system to:

• Open and Close Registers
• Create Customer Accounts
• Check out Customer Purchases
• Perform other inventory management duties including cycle counts

•Participates in all Hollywood Feed educational classes as scheduled

•Keeps up with basic weekly store maintenance duties involving cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, dusting, creating displays, price updates etc.

•Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

•High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Required Skills & Abilities:

•Love and dedication to animals and their owners is an essential requirement for Hollywood Feed’s culture

•Excellent verbal communication skills

•Excellent active listening skills

•Excellent sales and customer service skills

•Extensive or quickly acquire knowledge of store products

•Ability to anticipate customers needs

•Ability to recommend store products to customers

•Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store point-of-sale system

•Valid driver’s license and a minimum of 2 years driving experience. (Time frame can include a learner's permit)

Physical Requirements:

•18 years of age and older

•Physically able to lift 40 lbs repeatedly up to head height to stock shelves and put away deliveries multiple times a day

•Physically able to continuously bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, and twist multiples times a day

•Physically able to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours

•Physically able to climb ladders multiple times a day to put up and access product for customers

•Meet the requirements of our Safe Driving Policy and be willing to drive our company owned Same Day Delivery Vehicle
