Sales Assistant -Food Distributor at Activ8

A global food distribution company is currently seeking a motivated Sales Assistant to support their office in the Hackensack, New Jersey area. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-3 years’ work experience in sales administration and data entry, and a positive, team-oriented mindset. This is a full-time, direct hire position.

Sales Assistant Responsibilities Include:

• Support sales department activities, such as entering sales orders, assisting with sales forecasting, developing quotations, etc.
• Act as point of contact for customers regarding sales orders, product issues, questions, etc.
• Input and manage data entered in company system(s); ensure accuracy and compliance to company standards
• Coordinate with logistics department and overseas associates as needed to ensure accurate delivery of products
• Other duties as assigned

Sales Assistant Requirements Include:

• Associate’s degree in a business-related field preferred, OR equivalent work experience
• Previous work experience in sales support, customer service, or similar roles, preferably in a food manufacturing and / or international distribution environment
• Strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office applications
• Good communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
• Japanese language ability is a plus but not required
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
