JOB OVERVIEW
The Safety Specialist role is responsible for fleet safety coaching in the front line. Responsible for safety pre-qualifications across AME. Plans, documents, and helps Safety Mangers to follow up and monitor implementation of safety policies, training, and procedures. Participates in and supports safety activities that drive improvement of safety performance across the business unit.
JOB DUTIES:
+ Drives the improvement of United States Fleet Safety program. Provides direct coaching with our drivers in our fleet. Drives the sharing of fleet safety information throughout the business unit including investigation outcomes, best practices, and coaching resulting from performance. Liaison between operations, EHS, fleet sourcing and dashcam 3rd party. 60%
+ Support safety prequalification across the Americas including coordination with various stakeholders from each vertical and front-line operations.
+ Plans, documents, and helps Safety Mangers to follow up and monitor implementation of safety policies, training, and procedures.
+ Participates in and supports safety activities that drive improvement of safety performance across the business unit.
+ Participates in global quarterly Safety Team Meetings and District Safety Calls to contribute in sharing and implementing best practices and information.
+ Develops and maintains his/her own competences as a safety coordinator and development towards a safety manager. Drives and supports the development of safety competences of others.
+ Represents KONE to external stakeholders (authorities, clients) in safety matters, under direction from SVP SQE and / or legal representation.
+ Participates in global safety activities and takes an active role in global initiatives and projects related to safety.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
+ 2 - 5 years of safety experience. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Provincial EHS regulations and requirements.
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial hygiene, or safety required.
+ CFR 1926 and 1910 OSHA Standards. US DOT standards. Provincial (Canada) regulatory experience. Capable of effectively multitasking. Excellent MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel software skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills across all levels of the organization. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
The hiring range for this role is $90,320.00 - $124,190.00 USD . The compensation package offered will depend on the candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.
