About the Job
We are currently partnering with a leading food processing group that has an immediate opening for a Safety Specialist for their facility in Iowa. The company is one of the top 5 producers in their industry in the US. The company has gone through a significant expansion recently with new operations across the US.
As the Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for the oversight of all safety policies, practices and programs to ensure all employees at the facility are in compliance with regulations both Federal and State. Supporting and implementing companywide programs at the facility level. Partnering with facility and corporate management. Promoting a culture of a safe work environment!
Safety Specialist Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards both Federal and State requirements
- Build and promote a culture of safety as a core value of the company
- Keep and maintain documentation and records of inspections, training and corrective actions
- Conduct regular trainings with facility employees
- Investigate and identify root cause of accidents to develop plans for prevention
Safety Specialist Qualifications:
- 2+ years of safety experience, preferably with experience in food or related manufacturing
- thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices
- skills necessary to engage with the company teams and drive safety initiatives across the organization
- Bachelor’s Degree OR related Safety experience equivalent
- Bilingual (Spanish & English)
- 30 Hour OSHA for General Industry Certificate
- Experience working with regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, State programs, etc.)
Safey Specialist Compensation and Benefits:
- $65,000 - $75,000 Base Salary
- Full Benefits including 401k Matching Program
