Safety Specialist - Your Job Duties:

You will own the safety function and serve as the “safety spokesperson” for a multi-company organization with a total of approximately 140 employees, throughout Northern California, reporting directly to the Company President.

• Lead weekly safety meetings (in English and Spanish) and ongoing safety presentations
• Conduct all the tasks required to prepare the work force to work safely in a construction environment
• Perform inspections (ie: truck inspections, pop in on crews) to ensure employees are following safety requirements
• Assist management with guidance on how to complete tasks safely
• Resolve all safety issues that arise from customers, employees and company managers
• Communicate constantly with employees to ensure they are provided with safety gear/supplies needed to complete essential duty job requirements
• Prepare professional reports (ie: safety inspection forms, accident reports, workplace investigation reports)
• Research and answer safety related concerns / maintain up to date on new safety requirements
• Performing accident investigations for OSHA and W/C claims
• Participating in & leading Job Safety Analysis (JSA) meetings
• Maintain updated company IIPP Handbook
  

Safety Specialist - Required Skills, Experience & Fit with Our Team

You are:

• OSHA certified (10), ideally OSHA 30
• Bilingual Spanish
• Prior experience in a safety role / knowledge of Federal, State and Local safety regulations
• Able to drive a company vehicle / clean driving record to visit field sites throughout Northern California
• Smith System Driver training (you might have, not required)
  

This role is mainly in the field and on the road, visiting multiple job sites. Plan for 20% in the office and 80% in the field, throughout Northern California. Very limited to no overnight travel.

Compensation $90,000 - $115,000 + based on experience base salary plus incentive bonus potential.

You will be provided with a company vehicle and gas card.
