Responsibilities:The Safety/Security Operations Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and coordinating to conclusion requests for assistance from Safety/Security, both within Legacy, as well as between Legacy and the community. Delivers quick, accurate, professional and courteous service in all interactions. Uses working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, and procedures. In all instances, established protocols and procedures are followed.
The Safety/Security Operations Dispatcher communicates needed services to the Safety/Security Officers or other appropriate departments and responds to emergencies calmly and efficiently. Monitors all communications channels, follows protocol in asking appropriate questions and notifies appropriate personnel. Maintains logs, records, and calls lists. Completes and submits reports as required.
Qualifications:Education:
High School Diploma of equivalent required. Associates of arts degree in Criminal Justice, Communications or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum two years experience in Corrections, Military, Law Enforcement, First Responder or related Security.
- Minimum one year experience with heavy public contact with an emphasis on customer service.
- One year experience as a Legacy Safety/Security Officer preferred.
- Experience with dispatch related software and equipment.
- Must be trained at the following campuses within 120 days of starting the position: Emanuel, Good Samaritan, Holladay Park, Mount Hood, Meridian Park, and Salmon Creek Hospital.

Licensure:- Successful completion of both classroom portion of MOAB training certification within 120 days of the first day of placement within the department and then recertification every two years thereafter.
- DPSST (Department of Public Safety Standards and Training) unarmed professional temporary certification (PS 20) or current DPSST unarmed professional certification required upon placement. The DPSST unarmed professional certification must be obtained within 120 days of the first day of placement in the department.
