About the Job
This full-time entry-level position is responsible for compliance with corporate, Federal and state safety policies. Conducts safety training, attends morning safety toolbox talks, conducts on site safety observations and inspections, Job site PPE and training assessment needs, incident investigations and new hire orientation as needed. The Safety professional will receive directions and report to the area Safety Manager. This position will require travel and overnights stays as well.
Primary Functions:
- Conduct site safety observations for safety compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures and entry into Site Docs.
- Attends Morning toolbox talks and participates in project planning meetings
- Provide safety expertise to site foreman and workers.
- Conduct training and new hire orientations
- Assist with accident, injury and near miss investigations.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Experience:
- 3 years' experience in the construction industry.
- OSHA 30 card.
- Valid driver's license required.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Must be able to travel long distances and overnight as needed.
- Must be willing to learn and adapt to change.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Possess good communication and time management skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and outlook.
- Must have clean MVR, Background and be drug free.
