Responsibilities
The Safety Manager will be responsible for all safety planning, enforcement and documenting within the company
This person will provide leadership and oversight to project teams regarding their project safety as well as reporting to company leadership
Create/modify, implement and enforce safety guidelines and programs
Review safety guidelines of various customers and ensure Harlan's compliance
Continuous inspection of project sites, to ensure a hazard-free environment
Assessment and approval of subcontractor safety plans
Verification of tools and equipment to ensure good quality
Promoting safe practices on site
Document safety infractions
Audit subcontractors
Maintain training and safety records
Conduct employee safety training
Experience in commercial/industrial setting
Communicate with company management as needed
Carry out drills and exercises on managing emergency situations
Conduct investigations on accidents
Verify that all safety reports are submitted to related government institutions
Respond to workers’ safety concerns
Manage all communications with government departments in regards of safety
Arrange OSHA-mandated evaluations of the site
Coordinate all issues regarding hazardous materials or waste
Assist with the preparation of a construction health and safety plan
Attend project planning meetings and collaborating with construction managers
Establish and maintaining health and safety communication structures
Test effectiveness of site emergency response plans
Continuously monitoring of all safety related documents, reports and issues to keep them updated
