Title: Safety Manager
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Compensation: $85,000 - $115,000 base salary
Job Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and safety best practices. Regularly evaluate performance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow-up assessments to enhance safety culture and mitigate risks.
- Training Programs: Plan, implement, and conduct preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs for team members. Ensure all employees are equipped with the knowledge to safely perform their duties and remain compliant with safety protocols.
- Environmental Safety Programs: Plan, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive environmental safety and health programs at project site locations or on company premises. Ensure environmental practices meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Guidance: Provide the project management team with guidance on health and safety issues and ensure that each project site complies with local, state, federal, and industry-specific guidelines and regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Guarantee that all work is performed according to approved manuals, internal policies, and procedures, as well as contract documents and industry best practices. Monitor work for quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Technical Support & Project Coordination: Offer technical support to project managers and other team members on environmental health and safety matters. Develop and maintain project cost and change controls, project budgets, and accounting records. Coordinate and monitor project schedules, invoices, and submittals to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, biology, chemistry, or life Sciences is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a related manufacturing or industrial field, with a strong focus on environmental, health, and safety management.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in managing safety, compliance, and environmental programs within manufacturing settings. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations regarding health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of resources.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience in conducting training, mentoring teams, and ensuring that safety and compliance policies are consistently followed.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to report safety findings, lead meetings, and train employees at all levels.
- Travel & Flexibility: Ability to travel up to 10-25% of the time. Must be willing to support a 24/7 production environment, including availability for day, night, or weekend shifts as business needs dictate.
