About the Job
The Corporate Safety Manager will oversee our entire safety program including reviewing, maintaining, and administering all of Cordoba’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA Certified, and capable of instructing CPR and First Aid. They should have knowledge of relevant codes and standards, and possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to team members, executives, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:- Administers Cordoba’s Environmental, Health and Safety Program (EHS) and policies, to include the Injury, Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), to safeguard employees.
- Manages and oversees the IIPP safety program on job sites including inspections, safety meetings, preplanning, hazard correction, document control, training, incident investigation.
- Investigates and reviews reports of injuries, property damage, unsafe work conditions or practices and claims involving company workers and sub-contractors. Investigates, tracks and reports for all incident and near misses.
- Verifies appropriate PPE use, availability, and training, conducting frequent safety briefings for team members (e.g., fall protection, confined space entry) and appropriate medical surveillance as well as ergonomic set-up and evaluation.
- Ensures effective implementation of the Heat Illness Prevention Program (HIPP).
- Monitors, maintains, and updates ISNetworld, Gold Shovel Standard, Avetta, and Veriforce safety sites and reports and maintains the safety EMR ratings.
- Reviews and understands contractual obligations regarding safety, manages site and interfaces with contractor in accordance to contract agreements and standard of care.
- Verifies that safety, wellbeing risk assessments, and plans are current and amended when project activities or conditions change.
- Performs daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with current safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Monitors compliance to all current OSHA requirements that relate to the specific tasks that workers are performing.
- Confirms that all workers and sub-contractors are reporting all recordable injuries and near-miss incidents within the required timelines.
- Identifies site safety hazards and provides immediate direction to superintendents and sub-contractor’s safety representative to eliminate or mitigate them.
- Reviews and inspects work areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and applicable codes.
- Reviews all safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies and Cordoba clients on a continuous basis and revise as appropriate.
- Organizes pre-job safety planning meetings to plan for potential hazards and problems prior to start of job.
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Environmental Sciences, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Emergency Management, or related field; or equivalent work experience
- Approximately 5-7 years of experience as a safety professional in construction, power systems, utility, or related industries preferred
- A minimum of five (5) years of formal supervisory/management experience leading and developing teams
- Experience developing safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to articulate safety strategies to team members, executive leadership, and external stakeholders
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction regulations, EPA Regulations, legal health and safety guidelines
- OSHA certified, instruct CPR and First Aid
- Strong organization and motivational skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000
