Job Title: Construction Safety Manager
Location: Decatur, IL
Duration: 5-6 months with the potential for long-term engagement
Type: Full-Time Contractor
Compensation:
• Hourly Rate: $50.00
• Per Diem: $135
• Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
• Shift: Monday-Friday, 1st shift
• Start Date: November 4th
Project Scope:
As a Construction Safety Manager at this facility, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing safety across agricultural, manufacturing, and construction operations. Key tasks include safety oversight in the Wet Mill, Dry Mill, and processing areas, helping ensure safe and efficient operations. This hands-on role will require you to implement industry best practices, conduct safety inspections, and train teams on compliance standards. Your expertise in safety management will directly support the health and productivity of employees in these high-stakes environments.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in safety management within construction, manufacturing, or agriculture, with a solid, verifiable work history
• Expertise in General Industry Safety and Construction Safety is required; experience in agricultural safety is highly valued
• Demonstrated commitment to long-term roles with verifiable references and stability in previous positions
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough safety inspections and employee orientations across agricultural, manufacturing, and construction settings
• Lead safety training sessions and reinforce safety practices specific to each operational area
• Monitor compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations
• Manage safety-related documentation and maintain consistent communication with contractors
• Undertake additional EHS-related tasks to ensure a safe workplace for all
Skills:
• Strong communication, public speaking, and team leadership skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
• Familiarity with safety practices in agricultural, manufacturing, and construction environments
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of EHS regulations and standards relevant to agricultural, manufacturing, and construction operations. A passion for promoting workplace safety and a strong ability to maintain a compliant and hazard-free environment are essential.
