About the Job
Our client, a construction industry leader who works on large-scale construction projects, including K-12, Municipal, Higher Education and public safety, is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee the safety of these projects.
The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of all personnel. Acting as a servant leader and safety coach, the Safety manager will serve as a liaison and resource for jobsite teams, ensuring adherence to Safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities of the Safety Manager:
- Safety Leadership: Lead safety initiatives by promoting a culture of safety awareness and accountability on all project sites.
- Training & Orientation: Administer safety training and orientations for trade partners.
- Guidance & Expertise: Provide consultative advice to project teams on health and safety issues and recommend continuous improvement measures.
- Technology Proficiency: Maintain and teach proficiency in Environmental Health Safety software to staff and trade partners.
- Safety Audits: Conduct random and scheduled jobsite inspections to assess compliance with safety policies, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and client requirements.
- Emergency Preparedness: Coordinate and monitor emergency response plans, Daily Activity Hazard Analysis plans, and hot work permits.
- Toolbox Talks: Prepare and deliver regular toolbox talks and all-hands safety meetings.
- Incident Investigation: Assist supervisors in properly investigating and documenting all incidents, accidents, and injuries, ensuring all records are accurate and compliant.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on current health and safety regulations, laws, and trends.
- Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate and current safety records in compliance with requirements.
- Risk Communication: Communicate identified hazards, precautions, and corrective actions to all relevant parties on project sites.
- Quality Observations: Assist with quality control observations and ensure all findings are properly documented.
- Safety Material Distribution: Distribute safety materials, supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure clean, safe, and secure project sites.
- rade Partner Support: Collaborate with trade partners to ensure compliance and provide ongoing support.
- Safety Program Management: Continuously improve and administer safety programs
- Data Management: Input and track safety observations and audit results
Safety Manager Position Requirements:
- Education: Professional degree in Health & Safety or a related field (e.g., construction management, engineering) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 certification required; CHST preferred; First Aid/CPR certification required.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
