Job Summary

Purpose of Role
In this role This position is responsible for the full-time administrative and field support of the HSE program to ensure compliance with applicable mandates, requirements; standards and regulations. The position is responsible for coordinating the planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. This position requires a self-starting administrator and field-ready professional who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with members of various teams such as project management; field operations and senior management.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
· Maintains training & certification files for various databases
· Safe Work Observations (SWO)
· Conducts periodic safety meetings in the field & quarterly Health and Safety Meetings
· Reviews initial incident reports from the field
· Prepares project-related HSE documents including project HASP’s
· Prepares HSE field binders
· Promotes data collection associated with: near-misses; incidents; stop works & safe work observations supporting the HSE manager
· Manages the sub-contractor HSE qualification document program
· Conduct root causes analyses
· Perform weekly Health and Safety site audits and safe work observations
· Independently develops the Activity Hazard Analyses/JSA’s for project tasks
· Interacts with the Regional Management Team to support the HSE program regarding documentation & evidence of compliance
· Provides administrative support for the development and implementation of additional HSE training for superintendents
· Assists with the administrative support for on-going HSE & KPI’s metrics
· Answer pre-qualification questionnaires
Qualifications
Ideal:
· Robust knowledge of HSE construction regulations
· Understanding of Industrial Hygiene, COC awareness and related action levels
· General knowledge of safety management and OSHA general industry safety orders in the civil engineering/environmental remediation construction market sector
· Familiar with Behavior based safety programs
· Health and Safety Plans
· MS Office savvy
· Comfortable with and enjoys public speaking (clients, agencies, etc.)
· Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assigned projects
· Ability to lead by example and work in a collaborative team environment
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Solid organizational skills with a passion for detail
· Enjoys working with all levels of management and field personnel
Preferred:
· Requires a Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years equivalent industry experience
· Experienced and knowledgeable within an engineering & intense environmental construction acting environment arenas
· Title 17 Lead CDPH
· BAAQMD Rule 8 and others
· OSHA #500 and 510 – Occupational Safety & Health Standards for the Construction Industry

Compensation
· Up to $100,000/year total compensation
· The posted compensation does not reflect total earning potential over time and is based on qualifications, skills and experience for this role
Physical Demands:
· Ability to travel routinely in and around Northern California job sites to perform essential HSE functions
· Ability to climb or descend stairs while carrying equipment (weighing up to 10 lbs.)
Work Environment:
The Health & Safety Field Officer works both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
