Job Title: Safety Manager
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 3-year project
Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $45 - $49/HR
Per Diem: No Per Diem
Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
Hours: 50 - 60 hours a week
Days: Monday - Friday (7am - 5pm)
Workdays: 10 - 12 hour days, with some overtime
Project Scope: Hydro demolition services at a water treatment plant, including civil work
Demolition
Saw cutting
Confined space tasks
Abrasive blasting
Developing and reviewing JHA/JSA's
Qualifications:
5+ years of construction and safety experience
OSHA 30 (minimum)
Confined Space experience
Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
Industrial experience a plus
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations.
Provide safety training as needed.
Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety practices.
Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence.
Develop and implement comprehensive Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) to ensure site compliance.
Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required within the manager's skills and certifications.
Skills:
Excellent public speaking and communication abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
OSHA outreach training experience is a plus.
Confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
Knowledge:
Comprehensive knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and construction regulatory standards, ensuring all operations meet OSHA, ANSI, and EPA guidelines.
