The Safety Intern will assist the Safety Department with various functions as it pertains to Safety. This Internship is ideal for students wanting experience in the Safety or Human Resources field.
Pay Range: $20.00 /hour
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm
(Flexible to work around school schedule)
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Location: Fresno, CA
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting daily workplace inspections.
- Assist with reporting and record keeping for workplace injuries.
- Reviewing safety policies and procedures to keep up regulatory changes.
- Assist and participate in accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Assist with corrective actions and follow-up.
- Assist Corporate Safety Manager to investigate unsafe working conditions andpropose improvements.
- Assist in the development of the site safety plans and manage the upkeep of those documents.
- Demonstrate ability to conduct training, present materials.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge of safety and occupational health practices and regulations.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and flexible regarding work schedule.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to present a professional demeanor and when working with all levels of employees.
- Strong work ethic
Education and/or Experience:
- Actively attending a university towards their undergraduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety from an accredited university or college.
