Role Overview:
The Safety Director will lead and manage a team of 15-16 safety managers, driving safety excellence across multiple projects. The role is primarily office-based (90%) with field engagement (10%), ensuring collaboration with safety representatives and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to 15-16 safety managers across diverse projects.
- Conduct and oversee safety training, inspections, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Manage documentation and contractor communications related to safety.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement effective safety strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in OSHA (Master's preferred).
- Certifications: CUSA or CUSP strongly preferred.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of leadership/management experience in health and safety.
- Extensive electrical utility construction experience (lineman experience is a significant plus).
- Skills:
- Strong communication, management, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Bilingual skills (preferred but not required).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Travel Requirements:
- ~2 days/month (all sites within 3-4 hours of the main office; occasional travel to OH/OK).
Schedule:
- 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, ~40 hours/week.
- Rare availability required for emergency calls during nights/weekends.
