As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for helping create a safe working environment for all employees of the SESCO Cement Terminal
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Risk assessment: Identifying potential hazards that could cause injury, damage to the environment, or ill health
- Emergency management: Ensuring that there are plans in place to respond to emergencies and that employees are prepared to handle them
- Compliance: Ensuring that the company complies with all relevant health and safety legislation and standards
- Safety inspections: Conducting safety audits and inspections to examine hazards
- Training: Developing and conducting training for workers on safety and environmental protection
- Incident investigations: Leading investigations into incidents and reporting on the findings
- Waste management: Overseeing waste management and pollution control initiatives
- Personal protective equipment (PPE): Identifying PPE, such as protective clothing, footwear, gloves, and head and eye protection, as a key way to protect workers
- Environmental audits
Requirements and Qualifications
- 0-3 years’ experience
- OSHA 30 Required
- OSHA 511 or 501 preferred
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex findings in a clear and understandable manner
- Collaborator: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies in the rapidly evolving field of data analysis
