We are seeking a skilled and diligent Construction Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a Construction Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of effective safety practices and procedures on construction sites. Your primary goal will be to promote a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors, minimizing the risk of accidents, injuries, and property damage. You will collaborate closely with project managers, supervisors, and construction personnel to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
This organization has doubled in size to $500M in the last 4 years! They are looking for someone to come in as a Coordinator who is looking to stay and grow with the company. The hope is to be able to promote the Coordinator into a Safety Manager!

Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide training and orientation sessions to employees and subcontractors on safety practices, equipment usage, and emergency procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss events, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Review construction plans, drawings, and specifications to identify potential safety concerns and suggest modifications as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to develop safety plans for each construction project, ensuring all necessary safety equipment and resources are available.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
- Serve as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries and provide guidance to on-site personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience working as a safety coordinator or a similar role in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations applicable to construction sites.
- Familiarity with construction processes, equipment, and materials, and their associated safety considerations.
- Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and accident investigation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively deliver safety training and communicate safety requirements to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in using computer software and applications relevant to safety management and recordkeeping.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities in complex safety situations.
- OSHA 30 Hour – Construction Industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 510
- Rigging/Signaling
- Competent Person Fall Protection
- First aid/CPR
