Metals USA is seeking a Safety Analyst for our NORTHBROOK, IL location. Responsibilities:

* Leading Weekly Safety Meetings
* Leading our Safety Committee
* Inspect Facilities and work areas for hazardous conditions
* Work with employees and management team to identify hazards and use problem-solving skills to reduce or eliminate risks
* Manage or develop processes for safe production and handling of materials
* Plan, develop and implement safety training
* Lead incident investigations
* Verify compliance with health and safety regulations as well as company policies and ensure all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines
* Ensure policies are understood and upheld
* Strengthen the overall safety culture
* Complete task-based risk assessments for processes and equipment use
* Evaluate employee competencies
* Coordinate with management and maintenance teams to ensure projects are completed timely and correctly
* Continuous Improvement tasks such as, evaluating processes and equipment to determine changes to reduce risk or improve quality or production.
* Coordination and leadership to be up to date on all Reliance Safety Requirements and Procedures

* Experience in safety or leadership roles
* Highschool Diploma
* Degree in safety related field is a plus but not required
* Related manufacturing experience is a plus but not required
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent time management skills
* Ability to use Microsoft office applications (word, excel, teams) proficiently
* Must be self-motivated
* Must work well as part of a team
* Comfortable speaking to groups of people
