Safety Administrator or Specialist from System One

About the Job
We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Administrator for a progressive, fast paced children’s medical device manufacturer.
The Environmental Health, and Safety Administrator implements policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment with the coordination and support of the Management Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
- Prepare and schedule training to cover emergency procedures, workplace violence and safety, first aid and all other required topics for all personnel.
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures and maintain reporting requirements.
- Coordinate the development of a Safety Team and hold regularly scheduled Safety Meetings.
- Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develop and implement inspection policies and procedures, a schedule of routine inspections and complete regular facility inspections.
- Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Ensure that material safety data sheets (MSDS) are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Maintain records of employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Oversee annual evacuation drills.
- Oversee requested building inspections, e.g. property manager, fire department, and coordinate requested improvements for compliance.
- Stay up to date on relevant health and safety regulations.
- Manage Cal/OSHA and OSHA requirements.
- Other issues as required.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience preferred.
- Must be bilingual English/Spanish speaking.
- Knowledge of safety training requirements.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar.
