About the Job
The Runner position plays a central role in ensuring the Timber experience for all our guests. The Runner is responsible for ensuring food orders are delivered to our guests promptly and courteously. Also, the Runner is responsible for ensuring guests are properly seated and set with everything they need to enjoy their meal. This is accomplished by controlling seating org during busy times, delivering food to guests promptly, paying attention to guests’ needs throughout the dining experience, keeping the restaurant stocked, and actively supporting team members throughout the shift.

The Details
- Arrives for shift on time and in proper work attire.
- Assists Cashier, Expo, and Bartender in completing Opening Procedures to ensure FOH is properly stocked, organized, and clean for service.
- Prepares to go boxes to ensure ample supply throughout shift.
- Assists Expo when needed.
- Helps greet guests when busy: provides menus, explains how seating and ordering works, maintains seating organization and helps guests find seating.
- Maintains communication with Expo to advise guests of wait times.
- Delivers plates to seated guests.
- Delivers food to guests, and ensures seated guests have adequate plates, plastic ware, napkins, etc.
- Brings to go orders to Cashier or Bar area for pick-up.
- Monitors and restocks supplies throughout shift.
- Monitors dining areas, and busses tables.
- May assist Cashier by taking orders on the handheld and handing out to-go orders.
- May run drinks from Bar.
- Actively communicates with team members throughout the shift to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Actively communicates with cashier about expected wait time for table turns.
- Actively assists team members when required.
- Follows Timber protocol for handling service breakdowns/guest complaints.
- Adheres to Timber food safety & sanitation standards throughout the shift.
- Assists Cashier, Expo, and Bartender in completing Closing Procedures to ensure FOH is properly shut down at end of service.
- Completes side work duties as assigned.
- May complete deep cleaning tasks, per schedule.
- May complete other duties as assigned.
