Job Title: Radiology Physician Assistant
Reports to: Chief of Interventional Radiology
Pay: To determine our range, we consider as many of the following data points as are available to us: external market salary survey data, internal data in terms of comparable roles and our budget for the position. What we have posted is our good faith estimate of what we expect to pay: $100,000-$130,000 annually.
Summary: This role works as part of the Interventional Radiology Department of Great Lakes Medical Imaging. The team provides services to Buffalo General Hospital, ECMC, and GLMI. The Radiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Great Lakes Medical Imaging. This position assists physicians with the evaluation, management and treatment of a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities. This includes assisting in procedures under the guidance of X-Ray, Ultrasound, or Cat Scan technologies. This position works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s).

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.
- Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.
- Performs minor interventional procedures within scope of practice.
- Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice.
- Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.
- Assists the Interventional Radiology physicians in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients.
- Assists the Interventional Radiologist in the performance of procedures using radiologic guidance
- Work will be coordinated with other APP's and will support multiple radiologists.
- Provides coverage to other locations, as needed
- Other duties as needed
Necessary Skills:
- Strong computer skills including use of information systems and Google based programs
- Problem solving skills
- Strong oral communication skills including both phone and in person
- Strong patient care skills and diplomacy
- Experience in radiology or medical terminology
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Nurse Practitioner program.
- Active NY medical license and certification by the appropriate accreditation body.
- Active BLS and ACLS.
- Radiologic Technologist certification strongly preferred
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- May be asked to lift up to 25 pounds
- Standing, walking, sitting, keyboard use for long periods of time
- Ability to listen and communicate with patients face to face or over the phone
- Will be required to read, write, work in a fast-paced office setting
- Ability to make decisions and think quickly
- Must have mental and physical capabilities to perform all tasks listed above
