The RSO Compliance Coordinator is part of the Campus Activities team and reports to the Assistant Director of Campus Activities, Campus Activities plays a key leader within USC Student Life and the University. The Campus Activities department has a significant impact on the student experience for a campus of 49,500 students and is responsible for the advisement of Undergrad and Graduate Student governments, including their assemblies; overseeing the recognition process and success of over 1000 student organizations; and large-scale events including Late Nigh SC, Student Game Day Experience programs, the Trojan Welcome Experience, Grad Week, and Volunteer programs. Position Description The RSO Compliance Coordinator will play a key role in the management and oversight of the nearly 1000+ Registered Student Organizations with special attention to high-risk organizations. Key responsibilities of this position include: Oversight and management of the EngageSC platform for Campus Activities and the RSO process Management and updates to the online student organization recognition process Educate student leaders on university policies pertaining to event planning, financial processes, and group responsibility Track policy and elevating high-risk issues to help mitigate risk and ensure policy enforcement creating a strong communication and expectation path for student organization advisors Support in the efforts with the Office of Culture, Ethics, and Compliance and the Office of Risk and Insurance to implement a framework of risk management Liaise with departments who assist with management of high-risk RSOs including Youth Protection, Clinical Services, Rec Sports. serve as Campus Activities contact for high-risk RSOs and follow up. Serve on the review team for the University Event Permits Application process for RSOs Support Fraternity & Sorority Leadership Development with compliance projects as needed Advise student orgs in the development of constitutions and by-laws Maintain and update the RSO resource guide as well as RSO forms and documents related to RSO policies and procedures The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for managing the overall student organization recognition process and tracking compliance for each organization in relation to mandatory education or documentation needed as part of the recognition process. The Compliance Coordinator, in conjunction with the Assistant Director, will work closely with university partners in the Office of Risk Management, Compliance & Ethics, General Council, and partners focused on prevention education. Additional compliance support will be needed with any student organization on interim action or who is participating in the student conduct process. This person will help track high-risk student organizations, along with campus partners, to ensure needed oversight. The Compliance Coordinator will assist with management of compliance for fraternity and sorority leadership development, as needed. Through their work, the Compliance Coordinator will create and sustain relationships with student leaders and student organization advisors. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Bachelor's degree Minimum Experience: 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Student personnel administration The annual base salary range for this position is $66,500 - $67,000.
