DESCRIPTION
Analyze and coordinate the logistical functions of a firm or organization
Responsible for the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources
Primary Responsibilities:?
Develop reports showing transportation costs on precise projects and moves.? Conduct physical cataloging, warehousing, inventorying, material control coordination and data entry assisting different supply activities.? Support with maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans and similar data.? Provide assistance for maintaining logistics planning tasks.? Review and analyze program effectiveness, suggest and execute on time improvements and corrective actions.? Coordinate accountability of property and issues maintenance.? Investigate inventory divergence, resolve issues and update database to replicate property movement.? Provide advice and recommend on pertinent accountability procedures and policies, discrepancies of information and divergence from regulations.? Establish and maintain maximum and minimum consumables inventory levels.? Administer and maintain inventory control program systems and electronic property management.? Develop pertinent schedules, reports and conduct recurring inventories of supplies and property.? Administer and implement inventory management program.? Present inventory distribution of warehouse according to standardized process.? Establish and update regularly work priorities and stations and fulfill routine tasking by supervisor.? Coordinates with unit managers and co-workers to assure apt automated system(s) are upgraded and outcomes are accurate and current.
The Route Engineer provides critical support to our DSD route infrastructure
Support includes, but is not limited to, writing territory descriptions, defining territory boundaries, optimizing routes as part of re-engineering projects, facilitating transactions, and proactively finding opportunities for improved network health.
Principal Responsibilities:
Route Mapping and defining territories.
Collaborate on initiaves impacting downstream implications to execution, route health, and operational excellence.
Reduce temporary labor to reverse increasing operating expense trend and improve operating results.
Improve processes to significantly reduce route turnover transaction time.
Improve everyday operational dynamics via actively managing redesign opportunities.
Evaluate and provide recommendations on strategic route opportunities to improve performance.
Perform re-engineering efforts and ad hoc mapping requests to support the field sales force and other cross functional team members.
Job Complexity / Scope:
Ability to use critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present recommendations.
Ability to navigate strategic discussions with senior leadership while providing strong oversight of tactical details.
Collaboration with cross-functional partners, especially with IT to develop best-in-class models for operational efficiency.
Understand complex software mapping tools and provide leadership to the team on best practices.
Maintain route database and implement improvements to improve integrity as needed.
Requires project management, time management, prioritization, and organization.
Job Specifications:
Four-year college degree required.
2+ years DSD experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Problem solving skills
Analytical and troubleshooting skills
Reporting capabilities
Microsoft Office: Strong Excel skills and PowerPoint are a must
Concise written communication skills
Self-motivated and comfortable dealing with all levels in the organization
Technology savvy and progressive
Preferred but not required: MapMarker, MapInfo, Spectrum/Drive Time and StreetPro (Pitney Bowes Software), web based mapping applications (e.g
Google Maps), Independent Operator, DSD or Grocery store experience
Working Conditions
Infrequent travel to headquarters or field locations is expected.
