Job Description:
As a Rough Carpenter at United Trades of America, you will play a key role in the early stages of construction, contributing to the structural framework of buildings and ensuring the stability and integrity of various structures.
Responsibilities:
- Framing and Structural Work: Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard using hand and power tools.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret construction drawings and blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Formwork and Shuttering: Build forms for concrete construction projects, including foundations, columns, and slabs.
- Installation of Structural Components: Install and anchor materials, such as metal studs, girders, and rafters, to provide structural support to buildings.
- Roofing Work: Assist in the installation of roof systems, including trusses, sheathing, and other related components.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and team members.
- Material Handling: Lift and carry construction materials, tools, and equipment as needed for rough carpentry tasks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals, including project managers and other trades, to ensure seamless coordination and project success.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Rough Carpenter with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse rough carpentry projects.
- Skills: Proficiency in rough carpentry techniques and methodologies. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints. Familiarity with a variety of woodworking tools and equipment. Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working in various weather conditions.
- Safety Awareness: Commitment to safety protocols with a keen awareness of potential hazards.
- Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Certifications: Carpentry or construction-related certifications are advantageous.
