Summary/Objective

This position is primarily responsible for the fabrication of roombars used in chassis. This individual will be measuring, cutting, and welding systems to produce roombars. A roombar cell welder will be reporting to the team leader to ensure daily goals are being met.

Essential Functions

1. Combination of specified designs and measurements, appropriate component parts, cutting, and welding systems to produce roombars.
2. Rotation of position into production welding as necessary.
3. Assistance in repair work as necessary.
4. Maintain parts area organized and clean.
5. Make sure that scrap metal is not put in the same bin as your regular trash. Trash needs to be separated for it to be picked up.
6. Parts should not be on the floor for any reason. Racks & shelves must be used to keep parts off the floor.
7. Ability to read and use a tape measure.
8. Maintenance of good housekeeping practices throughout the roombar area.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands

While performing duties of the job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job the team member is regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Reasonable accommodations considered for individuals with disabilities to enable them to perform the essential functions.  While performing the duties of this Job, the team member works around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and conveyer roller lines. The team member may work in outside weather conditions in all seasons. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

In addition, the team member may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties.

This position requires personal protective equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear which will be provided (contingent on position).

Additional items required but not included are steel toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory.

Required Education and Experience

1. High school degree or GED.
2. Welding competency & knowledge of welding systems to be demonstrated.
3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
5. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Ability to read and understand basic blueprints.
2. Lift Truck Operators License preferred (training available).

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
