Position Overview:
You will be a control systems engineer at Dyna Robotics, with an emphasis on systems. Robotics control systems have many interacting components, and sometimes these interactions can produce unexpected behaviors. You will work with our research and engineering team to characterize unexpected behavior, do root cause failure analysis, and then help us design and implement systematic fixes. Your domain is the whole system, from low level motor control to high level input or output from our AI models. As a robotics company, your expertise is critical to our short term and long term goals.
Key Duties
- Take initial report of a robotics system issue and drive it to a complete issue characterization
- Drive root cause failure analysis and articulate findings to broader research and engineering team
- Help research and engineering team design a solution to systematically address these robotics system issues
Qualifications
- Masters degree or above in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, related disciplines, or comparable hands-on experience
- Substantive prior experience doing systems engineering: understanding a complex system with many moving parts
- Background in classical controls
- Strong independent software debugging and system design skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with robotic arm control (e.g. Inverse Kinematics)
- Familiarity with multi-modal foundation models
- Practical experience deploying AI models on physical robots
- Exceptional creativity, productivity, and independent research skills
