General Summary Position:
The Operations & Information Systems (OIS) Department at the Robert J. Manning School of Business, UMass Lowell, invites applications for the Robert J. Manning Endowed Chair in Business Analytics, a tenured full-professor role. We seek tenured full professors or advanced Associate professors with a Ph.D. in business analytics or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution. Candidates should have a strong research record in top-tier journals, excellence in teaching, and service to the academic community. The successful candidate will mentor Ph.D. students, collaborate with faculty and stakeholders, and maintain an active research agenda. Appointment start date is flexible.
The initial appointment is for five years, renewable for additional three-year terms, contingent on successful reviews. The Endowed Chair will receive a 9-month salary, a one-month summer salary, research funding, and administrative support. The role includes teaching three courses annually, with at least one at the undergraduate level.
The Manning School of Business serves over 3,750 diverse students and is AACSB accredited. Located 30 miles northwest of Boston, UMass Lowell is the second-largest public university in Massachusetts, with over 18,000 students. The OIS Department has thirteen full-time faculty members and offers undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. programs, maintaining a strong research profile and global collaborations.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Tenured Full or Associate Professor with a Ph.D. in business analytics or related fields from an AACSB-accredited institution
- Ongoing research and a record of top-tier publications
- Effective teaching experience
- Ability to work with diverse student and faculty groups
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supervising doctoral students
- Commitment to internal and external service
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
