Roadway Asset Data Technician - Complete HR Solutions

Baden Consulting Service, LLC (BCS) is a small engineering/consulting firm specializing in Roadway Asset Management Services for the municipal market. We leverage automated and manual roadway asset data collection, GIS, data analytics, and web technologies to create roadway asset inventories, condition evaluations, and provide network level analysis, reporting, and presentation.

BCS is looking for a roadway asset data technician to assist in the development of roadway asset inventories. Roadway assets, such as pavement, sidewalks, and traffic signs, are inventoried and evaluated to assist municipalities with management, work planning, and budgeting.

Responsibilities will include:

• Field Data Collection: (70%)
• In-office Data Entry and Editing (15%)
• Geographic Information System (GIS) (10%)
• Miscellaneous Office Work (5%)

Depending on project assignments, field data collection will include a combination of driving and walking roadways using vehicle mounted cameras, GPS enabled tablets, and other mobile technologies. Applicant must be comfortable with extended outdoor hours, walking, and carrying lightweight equipment. Examples of current projects include town-wide inventory of traffic signs (2,000 signs), town-wide sidewalk inventory, multiple town-wide roadway video-log creation.

Requirements:

• Reliable transportation to jobsites throughout eastern Massachusetts
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Clean driving record

Position details:

Approximate time frame for the position is June 1-August 31. If conditions are preferable, the position may be converted to a Co-op, extending through first and maybe second academic quarter (aka. A/B Term)

• $20.00 hourly rate, paid bi-weekly
• 40 hours per week are not guaranteed, but days/times may be flexible to optimize working conditions and hour total.
• "Office work" location may be flexible.
