Job Title: Roadside Commercial Tire Technician
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Roadside Commercial Tire Technician to join our team, specializing in tire maintenance and repair for semi-truck fleets. The ideal candidate will be experienced in diagnosing, repairing, and replacing tires in high-pressure situations, often in roadside or off-site locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, a customer-oriented approach, and the ability to work efficiently in various weather and traffic conditions.
Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly to emergency roadside assistance calls to assess, repair, or replace semi-truck tires. Conduct thorough tire inspections to identify punctures, wear, or other potential issues. Use specialized tools and equipment to mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires on semi-trucks and other large vehicles. Maintain clear communication with fleet managers and drivers regarding repairs, estimated arrival times, and completion of service. Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed, minimizing risks to self, drivers, and surrounding traffic. Document all services provided, including type of repair, parts used, and time spent on each job. Monitor tire inventory on the service vehicle, ensuring necessary supplies and tools are available for each job. Educate drivers on proper tire maintenance practices to help prevent future roadside incidents. Begin the day at our facility at 7:45am.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or TIA certification preferred. Proven experience in tire repair or replacement, especially with commercial trucks or heavy-duty vehicles. Ability to lift, move, and maneuver heavy equipment and tires (up to 75 lbs) as required by the job. Proficiency in using tire-changing tools, air compressors, and other related equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills, especially under pressure in fast-paced, on-site situations. Clean driving record preferred.
Work Environment and Conditions: Willingness to work in various weather conditions and at roadside locations.
