Job Summary: The RN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the nursing unit's daily operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role involves supervising nursing staff, coordinating patient care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision:
- Manage and supervise nursing staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and staff development.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and provide training.

Patient Care Management:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Oversee patient assessments, care plans, and treatment implementation.
- Address and resolve patient care issues and concerns promptly and effectively.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and quality assurance programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

Policy and Procedure Implementation:
- Assist in developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures.
- Ensure staff adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Keep updated on best practices and advancements in nursing and healthcare.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments to ensure integrated and coordinated patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and management.

Administrative Duties:
- Assist in budget preparation and resource allocation for the unit.
- Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making for the nursing unit.

Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Certifications: BLS/ACLS certification required; additional certifications in nursing leadership or management preferred.
