Qualifications:
- Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- License: Meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in state of Missouri or currently licensed in the state of Missouri
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
Who We Are:
- 25 bed unit
- Specializing in Neurosurgery, Spinal Surgery, & ENT
- Our Neurosurgical team provides compassionate care to a unique and rewarding patient population. We are highly skilled in providing healing care to patients with neurological conditions such as spinal cord surgeries, brain surgeries, lumbar drains and neck dissections, and more.
- We utilize a skill mix of RNs, LPNs & PCAs on our unit. Our nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 (5 for both day & night shifts,) while our tech-to-patient ratio is 1:8 for days & 1:12 for nights. The Neurosurgical team works closely with our physician groups to ensure we are providing the best & most compassionate care to our patients.
- Communication skills, interpersonal skills, patience, & attention to detail are strengths/attributes we know help one be successful here. Our team caringly helps patients and families navigate through challenging life events through continued education and expert-level care.
- We are confident our Neurosurgical unit will provide a great foundation for someone looking to gain nursing experience in a Med Surg unit, as well as someone looking to provide care to a very specialized patient population. Who We Are:
Trauma and Surgery is a unit dedicated to meeting the needs of the acute & chronically ill patients in our community across the lifespan. The unit’s primary focus are post-operative and traumatic care for the surgical and trauma population with services aimed at stabilizing, detecting, and treating emergency conditions as well as monitoring their chronic conditions.
- Patient population includes pre/post op patients from many different disciplines including: General, Colorectal, Ortho, Neuro, Plastic, Urology and OMFS surgeries
- Trauma patients commonly have multiple diagnoses which may include: multiple bone fractures secondary to MVA or Fall, gunshot wound, pneumothorax, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, concussion, assault, blunt trauma, stabbed wound
- Education of the patient and family is a consistent theme and focus throughout all levels of care provided
- 33-patient bed unit
- RN ratio of 4-5 patients
- Close relationship with Trauma surgeons
- Collaborate daily with Care Management team and PT/OT
Qualifications:
- Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- License: Current RN license in state of MO or meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in state of Missouri
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
