Job Summary
The primary role of the Nurse Supervisor is to supervise the day to day nursing activities of the facility in accordance to current federal, state, and local standards. As a nursing supervisor, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility,and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Must have be a graduate of an approved RN progam
- Must possess a current state license
- Must have at least 1 yr of experience in nursing administration, supervision or managerial capacity
- Must be knowledgable of nursing and medical practices and procedures
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work
- Must be CPR certified
- Must be able to push, lift, pull, and move a minimum of 35 pounds with or without the aid of mechanical devices
- Must have good organizational skills, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure written policies and procedures are followe
- Cooperate with other resident services as it relates to nursing services
- Ensure all nursing personnel are following their respective job descriptions
- Assist with process of admitting, transferring, discharging residents as necessary
- Monitor and assist with accident/incidents, reportable events for accuracy and completeness. Report to Director of Nursing and Administrator.
- Monitor new employee orientation programs for its effectiveness/submit suggesstions for improvement
- Supervise nursing staff
- Ensure infection control practices are maintained
