RN Specialist - Infection Preventionist - Ascension

We Are Hiring:

• Department: Total Quality Management
• Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift; 7:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Monday - Friday
• Hospital: Saint Thomas West
• Location: Nashville, TN

What You Will Do:

Develop and implement organization-wide infection control program.

• Administer the organization's Infection Control Plan and prepare the Infection Control Surveillance Summary.
• Develop policies and procedure to promote compliance with the mandates of applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies.
• Perform infection surveillance and investigation including planning, design, data collection, interpretation and reporting.
• Report infection surveillance, prevention and control information to all public health authorities as required by law.
• Provide consultation, education and training for infection control and prevention issues.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Certification specializing in Infection Control obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or
  job transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state
  license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job
  transfer date required.
• BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted preferred.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of
  hire.

Additional Preferences:

• RN, MPH or Microbiology background 3 years preferred.
• Certified Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred, Infection Prevention experience, or experience in surveillance and epidemiology principles.
• Strong computer skills
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to learn
