About The Position
ID: 52175095 Shift: 12H Nights Description: Unit START5/6 END - 17 WEEKSEPIC EXP 100% REQUIRED - THIS IS A FIRM DEALBREAKER1+ YEARS OF EXPFLU - REQUIRED - MED/RELG EXEMPTION APPROVEDCOVID - NOT REQUIRED*CLINICAL PRESCREEN FOLLOWED BY MANAGER AUTO OFFER AFTER REVIEWING RESUME + CLINICAL NOTES*# of beds: 38, can max out to 42 with semi-private rooms. Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights Required certifications: BLS, NIHSSCommon diagnoses/Types of patients: All general surgery patients, appendectomies, fractures, GI, Gyne, Vascular etc. Experience or 'Must have' skills: At least 2 years experience. Are RNs required to titrate drips?: NoCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin per protocol Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge nurse, outside of staffing Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, PCA's, 1:8-15 depending on staffing. PCA's are all trained to do phlebotomy. RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Cpap, NCIs there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?: Tele monitoring with monitor techs. Not required to read strips but they do need to be able to recognize lethal rhythms and respond appropriately. Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7 for both AM and PM. Travelers will fill holes. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Holiday Requirement: No Is there a call or standby requirement?: No call time, may be put on standby if scheduled and not needed. Floating Requirements: Travelers are first to float - may float to the other surgical units or other medsurg units. Rare need for team nursing in Covid Medical unit. Scrub Color/Dress Code: Royal Blue Unit/Department specific orientation: 3 days total orientation. 1st day general orientation, then 1 day on General Surgery.
